Sigvaris Medical for Women calf high closed-toe style compression socks for women have a luxurious feel with lasting microfiber softness and come in three compression levels.

• Microfiber is an extremely fine synthetic fiber knitted into textiles with the texture and drape of a natural-fiber cloth but with enhanced durability and breathability.

About Compression Levels:

Compression garments are rated by the amount of pressure that they apply to the skin surface in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Lower ratings provide enough pressure for comfort and some preventative properties. Higher ratings will also provide comfort but also provide more therapeutic levels of pressure needed to treat some more severe conditions.

• 15 - 20 mmHg rated stockings are considered light compression and can be helpful in minimizing varicose veins, spider veins, edema, thrombosis or venous insufficiency.
• 20 - 30 mmHg rated compression garments are considered light medical compression and are used by people who suffer from moderate swelling or for preventing blood clots after surgery. Garments with this rating should only be purchased on the advice of a physician or other health professional to avoid causing additional medical damage or injury.
• 30 - 40 mmHg rated compression garments are considered medium medical compression and are chosen if you have moderate to severe edema, after a vein treatment like vein stripping, as a treatment for ulcers, and to combat diseases like lymphedema. Garments with this rating should only be purchased on the advice of a physician or other health professional to avoid causing additional medical damage or injury.easurements should always be taken as soon as possible after waking when swelling is at its lowest. Limbs should be measured next to bare skin. The measuring system is based on the ankle between the sole of the foot and leg being 90°.  Measurements must be taken by pulling the tape snugly around the leg but without constriction. Measurements should be taken from the ground up.

Measuring:

• Ankle Circumference:  Measure the ankle circumference at the narrowest part of the ankle, above the ankle bone.
• Calf Circumference:  Measure the calf circumference at the widest part of the calf.
• Calf Length: Determine the calf length by measuring the floor up to the band in the knee. This measurement is taken outside of the calf.
